Getting ready for the day all of the sudden feels extremely daunting and, obviously, useless. WTF is the point? Yes, most of us that are lucky enough to still have work are using Zoom for video conference calls, but it feels stupid to pretend like we are doing anything but sitting on our couches in our PJ’s. None of us feel cute right now.
However, I am here to say: SNAP OUT OF IT! Putting on even the bare minimum of makeup will cheer you up and trick your brain into thinking you are still in your same routine. You might even be more productive that day because of it!
But, on-camera makeup is a little different than regular makeup. So check out my recommendations for the best makeup to use in your Zoom conference calls:
I love this stuff because it takes 5 seconds to apply, you can use your hands to do so, and you’ll look like a glowing goddess once you’re done. It evens out your complexion in the most natural way – there’s a reason it’s the most popular tinted moisturizer out there! And it has SPF for when we’re free from quarantine/are seeing the sun on a more regular basis!
This cream blush from RMS is exactly what you need to make it look like you have some color in your face and weren’t drinking wine by yourself until 1 am the night before. Cream blush is best for that glowy, natural, I’m-professional-AF-but-still-beautiful-on-this-Zoom-call look.
Being on camera can and will, unfortunately, make you look like a grease ball. Hourglass translucent powder to the rescue! Apply the powder to your forehead and nose, and you should be set for your conference call. IDK about you but I don’t trust anyone with a shiny forehead, and we want you to get a promotion.
Brows make or break the face. They give frame and structure and make you look ALIVE which is what we all need when we’ve been staring at the same wall for 2 weeks. The Wander Beauty brow pencil is especially perfect for this because it glides on so easily (even the makeup-challenged can easily use it), plus it’s not too thick which allows for a more natural look – because you don’t want your coworkers to KNOW that you tried to look this good for them, right?
I love this lip balm because it gives an effortless shine and color to the lips, so it’s perfect for looking the most beautiful while also looking like you did the least to get there. Plus, glossy lips look better on camera than sad, naked lips!
